SCA Packaging Design Challenge

Your challenge: Come up with a lean, slick – fat free - packaging solution

In our brief we ask you to design a ‘total packaging concept’. But what does this mean in practise?

Picture your chocolate product throughout the product life cycle:

> What does it need to be protected and transported from the manufacturer to the warehouse and to the shop/store where it will be displayed?
> What does it take to make the product attractive to the consumer?

Your solution can either be a combination of packaging solutions (e.g. transport box, shelf ready and display stand) or one single packaging that fulfils these criteria.

We look forward to your creative solutions.

Hi
Can you explain about "a total packaging concept" topic?
i want to know about the "chocolate product" some informations like below:
1- what is the name of chocolate?
2- dimensiond of product?
3- how many pieces do you propose in a box?
4- how many boxes do you propose on a palette (for transport) ?

The challenge is to design actually a total new product, so the name, product, size and amount are your own choice to design from. The only rule is that it is a chocolate product.

Hello Olcay,

As pointed out by Chung Dha, the size & dimensions are up to you to decide. Pick the chocolate product you find most challenging (e.g. Chocolate bars, pralines, chocolate-milk, an Easter egg, a chocolate snack…) and come up with a solution that works throughout the supply chain and delivers value to the end customer.

Good luck with your design!

Best wishes,

Mira

How about the marketing target then?

Target market is also yours to choose. Choose a very new market that could be attracted to your new chocolate product, or play safe with one that already exist and you are sure your product will be better and attract more of that target market. Only thing is that it is a chocolate product and packaging you have to design.

Hey I am wondering where are boundaries between professional and non professionals. How will they be tested to see if the person is already professional in the field of area to be qualified or disqualified. Because I see the entry by XuDong which I think is from a professional, because the have a big box out of a large piece of cardboard plus he has a pallet on the bottom. For me those things are not normally found at someones home and that box is made out of a sheet that more more then a0 size which you can not buy at any design or art supply store at that size.
